A New Holiday Ornament Joins the Collection
Stopped by a local Chicago shop to pick up a stained glass holiday ornament by artist Ben Houtkamp. After a lot of pacing and indecision, one special piece came home with me!
Last week, I visited a local shop called The Center of Order and Experimentation, a cozy little spot filled with stationery and charming goods. My mission? To get my hands on a Christmas ornament made by Chicago-based stained glass artist Ben Houtkamp!
I remember spotting his work on Instagram last year and thinking, “How cute!”—but I never managed to go get one. This year, though, as soon as his ornaments appeared on my feed again, I made sure to carve out time and head straight to the shop!
The ornaments were all so colorful and adorable—I couldn’t decide! I must have paced back and forth through the store for over 10 minutes trying to choose just one. I’m sure I looked ridiculous, but the shop staff was kind and patient, watching me with a smile. Thank you!

In the end, I chose this one! I loved its key-like shape—it just felt special. This year, this little guy will join my growing collection of holiday decorations and help bring even more cheer to my home!
