AI Illustration Woes: Trying All the Angles

I tried every possible angle but couldn’t land the right vibe. Why is drawing AI so hard—and not in a cool way!?

AI Illustration Woes: Trying All the Angles
I added color hoping it would help—but it only made things more mysterious instead of funny. Where’s the awkwardness!?

Today, I kept working on my AI-themed illustration for My Imaginary Art School. It’s Friday, which means it’s time for composition experiments! I tried three angles today: a straight-on view, a top-down view, and a slightly angled view from above. But—my drawing skills and imagination just couldn’t keep up! So, I called in reinforcements: Winnie the Pooh and a LEGO skeleton. Yep, I had a mini photo shoot with them as my reference models!

Using those photos, I tried sketching all three compositions.

But… none of them feel right. Usually, there’s a clear winner—a composition that gives me that zing! moment. But this time? Nothing. I want the image to say “Wait, you’re seriously this into talking to AI?” and capture that absurdity, but it’s just not clicking. Even the “AI-ness” of it isn’t coming across!

Desperate to make some progress, I even started coloring the sketches—but that only made it worse! The illustrations started looking all mystical and magical, which is... not the vibe. There’s no irony. No weirdness. No punch.

My brain’s too mushy to make sense of anything right now, so I’m calling it a day. I’ll try again tomorrow!
