A Birthday Gift from Me to Me
I bought an art piece by Chicago artist Katie Lukes as a birthday gift to myself—and she hand-delivered it! I'm so happy!

The other day, I happened to catch a post on Instagram from Chicago artist Katie Lukes, saying she was selling some of her art pieces. The moment I saw one, I thought, “I want it!” and clicked right away.
The world might be in Christmas shopping mode, but for me, it’s birthday season! So this was a birthday present from me… to me. 🎁
And yesterday—Katie herself came to deliver it!!
I’ve collected zines, postcards, and prints from artists I love, but I think this is my first time buying a real art piece like this. I didn’t know owning something from an artist I admire would make me this happy!
Even in Chicago’s cold, gray winter, I feel like I can power up my own happiness just by looking at this bright red flower in my home. 🌺 It’s such a joyful piece.
