Spotted the Osaka Expo mascot Myaku-Myaku at Shinagawa Station! Already kinda creepy at first glance—plus, what’s with those droopy water-drop things hanging from its elbows?!

Today’s blog is about art and design I stumbled across in the city!

Japan is basically heaven for character lovers—cute graphic design posters are everywhere. I keep stopping to snap photos, so it takes me forever to actually get anywhere!

Shimizu in Shizuoka = home of soccer mascot Pal-chan! His hundred-expression poster would be perfect for practicing facial expressions!

Also spotted lots of illustrations by Shimizu-born creator Momoko Sakura! Even the handwritten text has the same cozy vibe as her drawings.
Looked out the window of a Harajuku silver accessory shop and—boom—right across the street was the OG Harajuku kawaii brand 6%DOKIDOKI! Of course their second-floor display was extra loud and colorful.
