Back at Spudnik: Cutting, Chatting, and Riso Community Joy
Trimmed prints at Spudnik and met new riso friends! Feeling inspired as Osusowake Club gets closer to launch. ✂️
Today I headed back to Spudnik Press to do all the trimming for the Osusowake Club prints. There’s something so satisfying about just lining things up and snipping away along the cut marks—so crisp and tidy!
While I was there, I ended up chatting with another artist who was also working with the risograph. We showed each other our prints, shared printing tips, and even talked about the quirks of the two machines. It felt like a little moment of riso community magic! I always feel like risograph artists are naturally chatty and generous—always ready to share what they’ve learned.
Later in the day, I even ran into someone I recognized from the Chicago Publishers Fair! Turns out she’s a fellow Spudnik member too. I couldn’t help but say hi—it made me so happy to realize how connected this community can be.
I usually go to Spudnik on Saturday mornings, but visiting on a different day opened up new connections and good energy. It was fun!
Now, the Osusowake Club is getting close to the final stage—shipping! My goal is to get everything into everyone’s hands before the holiday season kicks off in full.
