Our First Art Fair: So Fun I Want to Do It Again!

Yesterday was Chicago Publishers Fair—and it was SO much fun! Like… “can we do another one already?” level of fun.

Our First Art Fair: So Fun I Want to Do It Again!
Wrote my name on the vendor pass, hehe!

Yesterday was the big day—Chicago Publishers Fair! If I had to sum it up in one word: SO fun! Okay, one more word: I want to do it again. It was that good.

And here’s the cherry on top:
The day before the event, the organizer emailed us to say that the vendor we were supposed to share a table with had to cancel— so we were upgraded to a full table!

Totally unexpected, but kind of perfect. We’d actually been saying, “Next time let’s apply for a full table,” because the tablecloth we brought was huge. And boom—next time came early!

At the venue, my husband handled the setup like a pro, and our shared space came together with his art world front and center.
The event took place at the Chicago Cultural Center, right in the heart of downtown. It’s a historic building with a truly gorgeous interior—
just being inside it all day felt like such a treat!

We also had amazing weather, and so many people came through. Some people told me directly that my postcards were cute (!!!), and a few even picked them up and bought them on the spot— which made me ridiculously happy!

While my husband was away from the table, I jumped in to explain his work and talk about risograph printing. And I had a funny realization: I actually enjoy talking to people at events like this! Who knew?

The organizers and fellow vendors were all so kind and friendly, and the whole experience just felt… good.
I’m so grateful to have been part of it.
Thank you so much!
