Tiny Boxes, Big Personalities

We stopped by a matchbox art show called General Strike at Joy Machine—70+ artists, tiny boxes, and tons of inspiration!

Tiny Boxes, Big Personalities
I’d been wanting to visit this gallery for a while! It always looked full of colorful art, and I had a feeling I’d love it—and yep, I totally did!

Last weekend, I was actually pretty active! My husband and I went out to check out Christmas markets where some friends were exhibiting—it was super festive and fun.

But one of the highlights was an exhibition called General Strike at a gallery called Joy Machine! It was all about matchboxes—more than 70 artists participated, and each one had decorated a matchbox in their own unique way.

Some were familiar faces from the Chicago art scene, and others were completely new to me. That mix made it feel really fresh and exciting!

Tiny boxes, but so much personality packed inside. I loved it.

That sofa on the left in the photo—so cute!!
