A Bonus Exhibit: Inger Johanne Rasmussen at Stavanger Library
We popped into the library by chance—and ended up face-to-face with gorgeous textile art by Inger Johanne Rasmussen. Total lucky find!

As we strolled around the old town of Stavanger, we spotted a beautifully glass-walled building and decided to pop in—it turned out to be the public library (oops, forgot to snap a photo!). Inside, I found this poster, and it immediately caught my eye. I had to see it, but panic set in when I couldn’t read Norwegian and had no clue where to go—until we climbed the stairs to the second floor, and found the exhibit right there, free to see. So lucky!
The show features the work of Norwegian textile artist Inger Johanne Rasmussen, who pieces together fabrics to create stunning, oversized flowers—some towering well above my 152 cm height.
When I got up close, I noticed a little hidden human silhouette in the stitching! Such a playful detail—just loved that.
This is the work used in the exhibit’s poster. I was mesmerized by its dynamic, symmetrical layout—so striking. From close up, you can really appreciate the fabric gradations—it’s such a great reference for color flow!
The piece is quite wide, so I couldn’t capture it fully in one photo, but I hope the vibrancy and life of those flowers still shine through!
I didn’t expect to find art like this in a library—what a lucky surprise!
