Working Out the last Osusowake Holiday Comic

Still figuring out the last holiday comic for Osusowake Club! This one’s been stuck for weeks—but I think I found the right twist!

Working Out the last Osusowake Holiday Comic
Maybe a story doesn’t have to follow a beginning-middle-end structure?!

Today I was brainstorming the last holiday comic for Osusowake Club—scheduled to go up on Instagram next week.

This is the one illustration I had sketched out two months ago, but the story just never came together… so it’s been sitting unfinished ever since.

So today I sat down at my desk, trying to force out a new idea. I was really pushing myself to feel inspired, but… nope. Nothing sparked joy.

I briefly thought, “What about a cat wrapping presents, overwhelmed by all the Amazon boxes piling up?” But, it just didn’t feel right.

After thinking it over a bit more, I realized—maybe this comic doesn’t need a “story” at all. Maybe it’s more fun if it’s just a cat desperately trying out different ways to carry too many presents.

So! I’m switching gears:

  • A cat stacking boxes way too high and wobbling dangerously
  • A cat trying to carry gifts on its head, only to pull a muscle when it turns around
  • A cat panicking as a tower of boxes collapses after lifting the bottom boxes wrong
  • And finally: a cat who figures it all out, calmly delivering presents stacked in a perfect Christmas tree shape

I’ll start inking everything tomorrow or next week. Slow progress… but getting there!
