Inside Moco Museum’s Art Playground

From cheeky Banksy to round-circle Mickeys and LOL-worthy art, Moco Museum was like an artsy jungle gym for my brain.

Damien Hirst’s Mickey—wait, you can express Mickey Mouse using only circles?!

I visited the Moco Museum in Amsterdam’s Museumplein! It’s packed with works by iconic contemporary artists—one surprise after another.

My favorite one—Love is In The Air.

On the first floor, there was a whole exhibition dedicated to Banksy. I think it was my first time seeing so many of his pieces all in one place! His razor-sharp messages really pierced my heart.

It also reminded me of the time my husband and I once bought a Banksy print (real or not, who knows?!) from a mysterious vendor in a New York subway station—it had that same curious energy.

Julian Opie’s piece—so simple, yet it captures the curves and confidence of a human body perfectly.

The second floor had a wide range of works by famous contemporary artists from all over the world. Here are a few of my personal faves!

And of course, seeing Keith Haring’s work never fails to bring me joy. One day, I hope to be the kind of artist who brings that same feeling!

And finally… I found a quote that spoke to me.

It was one of those moments where I thought, “Yes, this is exactly why I draw.”
