My Logbook Habit 2026

've kept a nightly logbook since last year—and this year, a mix-up in planner size gave me a hilarious start to 2026.

My Logbook Habit 2026
I did think the cover color options were more limited than usual… but this one feels like the night sky—kind of beautiful, right?

I’ve been keeping a nightly logbook—a habit inspired by Steal Like an Artist. In it, I jot down interesting things that happened during the day, books I read, movies and TV shows I watched, music I listened to, places I went, and drawings I made. Basically, anything worth remembering! I’ve been doing this every single night since mid-January last year. And of course, in true Charlie style, I add a small doodle here and there. Even on the most ordinary days, there are little seeds of inspiration waiting to be found—it’s not something to underestimate!

I use the LEUCHTTURM1917 weekly planner. It’s not too big, not too small—just the right size, so I decided to order another one for this year (a bit late, but better late than never). It arrived yesterday, and when I opened the package, I burst out laughing—it was tiny! Palm-sized, seriously! Since I’ve been in the U.S. for a while now, I’ve completely lost my sense of European paper sizes. The listing only said something like “A7,” which I thought was right... but clearly not! For reference, I use A5 for my morning pages, and last year’s logbook was A6. What was I thinking?! Still, even though I had a moment of regret, I’ve also made peace with it. Maybe this is a sign—just go with it this year. After all, the contents won’t change, right?
