A Street Sticker That Sparked a Flashback

A random sticker brought back memories of the strange but iconic No More Eiga Dorobo video from Japanese movie theaters.

These sticker cameramen look like they could break into a cool dance at any moment!

Today, I spotted a sticker while walking down the street that instantly reminded me of something very specific: Japan’s No More Eiga Dorobo campaign.

If you’ve ever gone to the movies in Japan, you know what I’m talking about—the anti-piracy PSA that plays before every film, warning that filming or recording in theaters is a crime. The video features a strange little skit with a camera-headed “movie thief” and a suited security team chasing him around.

When I was a kid, I used to hate that video. The camera guy's oddly smooth and exaggerated movements creeped me out. But now, thinking back on it, there’s something nostalgic—and kind of hilarious—about it.
Funny how a random sticker on a wall can bring up such a vivid memory!

Japanese comedians created this skit featuring a half-human, half-camera “Cameraman” character—it strikes this bizarrely perfect balance between funny and creepy!
