チャーリーイエローの「季節のおすそ分けクラブ」始めます

こんにちは！ 普段チャーリーイエロー(@charlieyellowofficial)という名前でイラストを描いているのですが、このたびパーソナルプロジェクトとして「季節のおすそ分けクラブ」を立ち上げました。

自分のイラストをもっといろんな人に届けたい、 そして私の絵で“ほっこりする時間”をおすそ分けしたい！ そんな気持ちから始まった、勝手にイラストを郵送で送りつけるプロジェクトです笑

🎄初回テーマ：ホリデー

今回が初めての“お試し版”。 テーマはクリスマスやホリデーシーズンです。 ハロウィンが終わると一気にホリデームードになるアメリカで、 その“始まりのワクワク”を感じるような ポストカードサイズのイラストを3点制作しました！

🍊このクラブに込めた想い

最近、子どもの頃、祖母が季節ごとに旬の果物やお菓子を送ってくれたことをよく思い出します。そして、日本には、季節をいち早く取り入れて生活に彩りを添える感覚もあるなぁと。それは、季節のめぐりを感じながら、自然や地球の恵みをいただき、私たち自身もその一部として生きていることを、ささやかにお祝いする行為なんだと思います。祝日以外では季節感を感じにくいアメリカで暮らすようになって、改めてその豊かさを実感しました。

そして「おすそ分け」という文化も好きです。 自分が十分に持っているものを、 特別なことではなく自然に周りへ分け合うやさしさ。 この2つを、このプロジェクトで形にしたいと思いました。

💌届けたい気持ち

私のイラストを気に入ってもらえたら、 額に入れて飾ってもいいし、誰かにプレゼントしてもOK。 **やさしさが巡っていく“おすそ分けの輪”**を、 この小さなプロジェクトで楽しんでもらえたらうれしいです。

まずはこの2025年ホリデー版に集中。 もし続けられそうなら、季節ごとにおすそ分けしていく予定です。

Hi there! I’m Charlie Yellow (@charlieyellowofficial), an illustrator based in the U.S., and I’ve just started a little personal project called The Seasonal Osusowake Club.

The idea is simple:
I want to send my illustrations out into the world—
and share little moments of warmth and joy through my art.

So… I decided to just start mailing them to people!
Yes. That’s it. That’s the project.

🎄 First Theme: Holiday!

This is the very first (and very experimental!) edition of the club.
The theme is holiday season—that cozy, exciting feeling that kicks in right after Halloween in the U.S.

To capture that “just getting started” kind of excitement,
I’ve created 3 postcard-sized illustrations around the theme of winter holidays and Christmas.

🍊 The Inspiration

Lately, I’ve been thinking about how my grandma used to send me seasonal snacks and fruits when I was a kid in Japan.

There’s a cultural feeling in Japan of noticing the seasons early—
adding seasonal touches to your life, meals, and surroundings.
It’s a way to celebrate the rhythm of nature and our place within it,
quietly and warmly.

Now that I live in the U.S., where it’s sometimes harder to feel the seasons (unless it’s an official holiday), I appreciate that richness even more.

And I also love the idea of osusowake—
the gentle act of sharing something you already have enough of,
without making it a big deal.

With this little project, I wanted to bring those two feelings together.

Right now, I’m focused on this first 2025 holiday edition.
If it goes well, I hope to continue sharing little bits of seasonal joy with you throughout the year.
