Ready, Set… Cut! Trimming Time for Osusowake Club
I might’ve been totally wiped from all the printing prep—but I still sharpened my pencil and got back to it today! ✂️ Time to get everything ready for tomorrow’s big trimming session!
Today I took it slow to recover from all the printing and prep from the past few days… but I also prepped for tomorrow’s trimming session! I add cutting marks during the printing phase, but oops—they were way too light. So I redrew them with a pencil, just to be sure.
While doing that, I ended up looking closely at all three pieces again—and realized there’s actually a lot I love about how the prints turned out!
- The character faces came out super clear, and the cuteness really shines through!
- Especially when I make the eyes, nose, and mouth all the same ink color, the face layout feels more solid and balanced. (In a different project where the face parts were different colors, the layers didn’t align right and the expressions got messed up! 😱)
- The red ink feels very Christmas-y and just right for the vibe.
- The snowman’s soft, puffy volume came through really well!
- Adding the Osusowake Club logo in the bottom right corner gave all three prints a nice sense of unity.
- Some of the opacity settings were a bit off here and there—but in cases like the snowman and girl’s scarves, the light and dark tones of the same ink actually worked out beautifully!
- The cat illustration? Adorably perfect, especially the face. I just hope people notice the little details—like the mouse toy and the skein of yarn in the presents!
- The one-color Osusowake Club info bookmark looks super cute! There’s a nice contrast between the solid-colored background with knockout white text, and the white background areas with 100% ink for text and drawings.
- And the biggest win: the QR code! It printed with perfect contrast—so it's both cute and functional!
Tomorrow I’ll start trimming everything, and hopefully move on to packaging and shipping. Fingers crossed!
