Holiday's Here!（ホリデーお待たせ！）
Mr. Cat shows up with arms full of gifts in this playful Osusowake Club holiday postcard. Let the festivities begin!
This is the third and final piece from the first edition of the Osusowake Club: Holiday’s Here!
Just like the others, it began as a pencil sketch, which I refined in Procreate through multiple rounds of redraws and recoloring. The final version was printed using the risograph machine SF3150 with Light Teal, Federal Blue, Yellow, and Tomato inks.
おすそ分けクラブ第一弾の３作品目は、「ホリデーお待たせ！」
この作品も、鉛筆でアイデアスケッチをして、プロクリエイトに書き写し、何度か書き直しや色の塗り直しを経て、最終的にリソグラフの機械SF3150でLight Teal、Federal Blue、黄色、トマトのインクを使って印刷しました。
The concept was all about that festive feeling—“Here it is! Holiday’s finally arrived!” I imagined someone carrying a mountain of gifts shaped like a Christmas tree, peeking out with a confident “Hey, been waiting long?”
この作品では、「ホリデー持ってきたよ！」みたいな、待たせた感を出したくて、クリスマスツリーの形のように山ほどのプレゼントを抱えたキャラクターが「よっ、待ってた？」と顔をのぞかせる構図にしました。
Originally, the character was a blobby figure, and I later sketched a girl. But since I had already used a girl in my Snowman Dance piece, I thought, "Who else could it be?" That’s when I remembered Mr. Cat—a doodle character I’ve been drawing for over 20 years since my school days. So of course, he became the star of this one, with one hilariously long arm and a bundle of gifts in both paws.
最初のスケッチでは、ゆるっとした人型キャラしか思いつかなかったのですが、別案で女の子を描いてみたところ、「雪だるまとダンス」で既に登場させていたので、何か違うキャラを…と思い出したのが、学生時代から20年以上落書きに登場している猫のMr.Cat！ 長い手を使って大量のプレゼントを抱える彼に、主役を任せました。

For the gift wrap patterns, I wanted to try something new—I scanned actual pen and brush textures from my collection and layered them into the illustration, rather than using my usual flat fills.
今回のチャレンジは、プレゼントのラッピング柄。家にあるペンや筆ペンのマークをスキャンして取り込んで使ってみたんです。普段はべた塗りが多い私にとって、これは冒険！
Looking back, I wish I had pushed the ink density more during printing, but overall I’m happy with how it turned out! Mr. Cat’s little face peeking through, the tight grip on the presents, the toy mouse and yarn spilling out—it’s full of charm and movement.
Who knows? Maybe Mr. Cat is standing at your door right now, loaded with presents and ready to share the holiday spirit!
印刷では、もう少しインクを乗せてもよかったなという反省点もありますが、顔をひょっこりのぞかせているところや、しっかりプレゼントを抱えている手、飛び出しているネズミのおもちゃや毛糸など、細かい部分が可愛く表現できたので、満足しています。
もしかしたら、あなたのお家の玄関にも、Mr.Catがプレゼントを抱えて立ってるかもしれませんよ？🎁🐾
