Pretty Good Fest Recap
I dropped by Pretty Good Fest in downtown Chicago this weekend! Between connecting with artists and picking up table display ideas, it was a pretty great afternoon.
Yesterday, my husband and I went to Pretty Good Fest, held at the Chicago Athletic Association downtown. I was a bit tired after printing in the morning at Spudnik, but I knew I didn’t want to miss it. With Chicago Publishers Fair just three weeks away, I wanted to steal some ideas for table design, observe how artists interact with visitors, and just soak up some tabling know-how. And of course—I wanted to see (and buy!) amazing artwork and meet the artists behind them!
I heard there were over 100 vendors participating! Both the 1st and 4th floors of the event space were packed with tables, and there was so much to see.

The artists were unbelievably generous—sharing all their tips on table design and mindset for a first-time tabler!
Looking back at the photos I took… most of them aren’t very good. Or rather—they're mostly close-ups of clever table props and displays!
But look at this haul! We ended up buying so much. I think this was the art fair where I talked to the most artists directly, and I had some truly wonderful encounters with their work. I really hope they hold the fest again next year!
