Ready to Print Something Long!
Tomorrow’s the big day—I’m finally printing Something Long! All the layout puzzles are solved and files are ready to go.

Tomorrow’s the big day—I’m finally heading to Spudnik Press to print Something Long! I reserved a two-hour time slot on the RISO printer, and I’m both excited and slightly sweaty just thinking about it.
I ended up drawing 19 long things for this zine, but of course, I can’t include all of them. So I picked the best of the bunch and planned how they’d fit in the layout—thinking about how the folds would work and how everything would flow from one panel to the next.
I opened a new tabloid-size canvas in Procreate and started placing each drawing. In the digital mockup I’d used solid colored backgrounds, but I realized those might look a little uneven when printed with margins and folds, so I swapped them out for more organic, blob-like shadows behind each character. I think it actually helps the drawings pop a bit more!

And here it is—the final layout! Front and back designs are both done. Now all that’s left is to run them through Spectrolite, separate them by ink color into grayscale files, and I’ll be fully print-ready. Fingers crossed that tomorrow’s print session goes smoothly!
