"Something Long" Might Actually Happen
After a risograph workshop sparked new energy, I finally found a way to bring my long-shelved zine project back to life—with a snake book twist!

Ever since I refreshed my risograph printing skills at Spudnik Ink the other day, my desire to make something has totally exploded! 💥
During the RISO 101 class, we got to see all kinds of print samples—and the moment I saw a piece made using a snake book format, I had a total “this is it!!” moment.
I actually have a project called Something Long that I’d been working on as a mock-up. I was hoping to present it at this summer’s Chicago Zine Fest, but after I made the mock-up, I got stuck—I had no idea how to actually produce a book that wide. So I paused the project for a bit.
But now that I’ve seen the snake book method… maybe that’s the answer! I jumped right back in and made a new mock-up using the format. Let’s see where it goes!
Here’s what the inside pages look like!
I made it from a tabloid-sized sheet with these simple cuts and folds.
