Still Sketching the Fire Horse
Horses playing with fire are kind of surreal and cute… but I’m not sure yet.

I’m still working on my Fire Horse sketches today. The drawing I did yesterday still doesn’t quite sit right with me, so I tried another idea in Procreate. It’s kind of cute, but doesn’t really have the bold, powerful feeling I associate with a “Fire Horse.”

The one breathing fire—also ridiculous in the best way.

I’m starting to wonder—maybe Charlie Yellow’s version of the Fire Horse is supposed to be a little silly? I’m going back and forth on it.

And the horse emerging from flames definitely needs more research, or it just looks like it’s being roasted! 😅

Another idea I started sketching is a horse emerging from roaring flames. But I have to be really careful with this one—it could easily look like the horse is burning, which would be a total disaster! That’s part of the challenge, though, and what makes it interesting.
