Summer's Out, Murals Are IN!

What started as “let’s check out some new murals” turned into “wait, is that a seductive starfish??” Hubbard Street never disappoints!

Summer's Out, Murals Are IN!
Judging by the leafy stems on their heads… are these tomato fairies??

The quirky gorilla mural I showed in my March post? Well, it lives on a street called Hubbard Street! It's actually under the elevated Metra train tracks, and the whole wall there is covered in murals! Like, a lot of murals.

Every time I pass through, I get a little burst of happiness—so many colorful, bold, and super unique artworks all lined up, waiting to surprise you. It’s seriously one of my favorite streets to drive or walk through.

And! The other day, my husband told me that some new murals just got finished—so of course I had to go check them out!

This artist is an absolute color genius!
All these happy faces are having such a good time, I feel like I'm catching the joy just by looking at them!
Mr. Cat’s weird little smile is lowkey creeping me out... but also I can’t stop looking.
I have no idea what's going on here, but those big round eyes are ridiculously cute!
I was totally blown away by the artist’s energy—like, they painted so hard it couldn’t even fit in the frame!
And the prestigious Charlie Yellow Grand Prize goes to... THIS ONE! I can’t stop thinking about Ms. Starfish and her dangerously sultry gaze.
