When Spudnik Canceled and We Printed at Home

Today was supposed to be my print day at Spudnik… but after a last-minute cancellation, I ended up doing the session at our home studio instead!

When Spudnik Canceled and We Printed at Home
The colors came out so good!

Today was supposed to be my printing day at Spudnik Press. But last night, I got a message saying they had run out of Riso supplies... so my reservation was canceled! I was so disappointed.

But then my husband said, “Let’s just print it at home! I’ll be your studio manager.” So we gave it a try!

I decided on these three, but you never know how combos will turn out.

Actually, we’ve got a lot of ink colors at home—but unfortunately, no florescent pink. So we used a Riso color called “bubblegum.” He swapped out the red drum, and it turned out to be a slightly reddish pink. Then we printed using that, plus yellow and teal

Something Long is a double-sided print, and after printing the three colors on the front side… I noticed something terrible. One of the pages was UPSIDE DOWN!!

And just when they printed perfectly… the bone illustration was upside down!! So frustrating!!

And the worst part? I made this exact mistake when I printed in the summer—and I thought I fixed it! But apparently, the version I used for this new color separation was the wrong one. Old me strikes again!!

I was so mad at my past self. Seriously, get it together!!

Luckily, I was able to repair the data. So I’ll finish the printing tomorrow instead.
Ughhh... still, I’m so bummed!!
