Wrapping Up the Year at Quimby’s

To close out 2025, I visited Quimby’s with my husband to check on my zines—and we found out Something Long had completely sold out!?

Wrapping Up the Year at Quimby’s
The staff was super kind and told us we could take promo photos anywhere we liked—so of course, we had a little photo shoot right by the new arrivals section!

To wrap up the year, I went to Quimby’s—a zine-loving bookstore in Wicker Park—with my husband, who had just finished making new zines. We had two missions: one was to ask if they’d carry his new zines, and the other was to see if I could swap out the old version of Something Long that I’d dropped off back in July with my freshly reprinted version in brighter colors.

While he talked to the staff, I wandered around the store, trying to find where Something Long might be. But no matter which section I checked… it was nowhere to be found! I started spiraling a little—like, “Wait, what if it sold so badly they just tossed it in the trash!?” 😱 A bit heart-sinky, I walked back over to where my husband was still chatting with the staff at the counter.

Just as their conversation was wrapping up, he mentioned, “My wife actually reprinted her zine and was hoping to swap it in.” So they looked it up in their inventory system—and… apparently all five copies had sold out!! WHAT!!! I couldn’t believe it! I’d always thought the original version looked too pale, and wasn’t sure if anyone would actually want it… But turns out somewhere, somehow, someone bought them all! I’m so ridiculously happy!

So now, they’re adding three more copies of Something Long to the shelf. They should be in stock sometime next week—so if you're in the neighborhood, feel free to stop by and look for it!
