My First Time at Lincoln Park Zoo!
A sunny day at Lincoln Park Zoo filled with penguins, polar bears, and future family outing dreams.
Today, my husband and I went to Lincoln Park Zoo for the very first time! The weather was beautiful, and it felt so nice to walk around outside.
A friend of mine who’s currently visiting Japan sent me videos of penguins at Asahiyama Zoo, and it suddenly made me desperate to see penguins too. So I looked it up and discovered that Lincoln Park Zoo has penguins—and immediately asked my husband to take me there!
Another thing I didn’t know: this zoo is free every single day! That honestly surprised me.

This rhino had the gentlest, cutest eyes! and maybe because of the heat, the meerkats were totally wiped out.
Sadly, we didn’t get to see the lions, but we did see rhinos, seals, polar bears, grizzly bears, giraffes, meerkats, and of course… the penguins I came for! It was so much fun.
The zoo was packed with families, and it made me think that once our baby is born, I’d love to come back together as a family too.
Seriously though—Chicago offering a free zoo like this feels incredibly generous!
