Lime Green Riso Experiment Day

Day five of nonstop riso experiments: lime green ink, mysterious blue marks, and another lesson from the chaos machine.

Today’s file was also made with fully 100% solid graphics! The weird vertical lines are still bothering me a little, but I’ll call it good enough!

Five days in a row of challenging the riso machine…, I’m impressed with myself!

Today I picked lime green.

It was my first time using this color, and since it’s such a bright, energetic shade, I’d been excited to try it someday.

But!! There’s one thing bothering me: the top of Lime-kun’s head is missing.

Actually, while troubleshooting the fluorescent pink drum, I learned a new trick. Apparently, if you peel off the master and directly apply ink onto the clogged parts of the drum, sometimes it temporarily fixes the issue—or at least helps the ink start flowing again.

I thought about trying it… but I forgot to ask my husband how to remove the master from the tightly-clamped silver part of the drum. So I gave up on that plan for now!

Also, there are random bluish marks showing up in the print. I’m not sure if it’s leftover ink from the previous drum color or something about the ink itself. But, maybe I should just remember that this kind of thing can happen and use it creatively in future work.

There’s just something really nice about this color lineup!

And of course, today I successfully added lime green to my growing density swatch collection too!
